Running for Daylight

Running backs in football have an amazing knack for finding a hole in the line just wide enough to sprint through. And once they pop through, they begin running for daylight. It’s also that time of year when the Annual Report provides an opportunity to step back and celebrate God’s work.

CABA has an amazing team and so many of our pastors have begun running for daylight. Over the past year, our association has been led of the Lord to network solutions by making strategic shifts in budget, leadership, and equipping for our pastors.

·       Consultations have been underway for more than one dozen CABA churches. Some are working to bring strategic shifts while others are seeking revitalization. Some 85% of our churches are plateaued or declining. Scheduling for Fall consulting times is underway.

·       Networking Solutions is underway in two regional zones and a third fellowship grouping is trying to get started in the western part of the association. Pastors are gathering for fellowship that include topical discussions for enrichment.

·       Disaster Relief callouts sent out one evangelistic Mudout in Texas. A team was ready for Vermont, but was cancelled there due to strong volunteer turnout.

·       Block Party Trailer reservations continued strong with 154 reservations that facilitated 2,368 evangelism encounters. This is a kingdom endeavor with a bit more than one-third of the reservations being made by non-CABA churches.

·       Church planting is underway among 19 churches; 12 of which are ethnic.

·       We’ve trained more than 1,000 church members to initiate Gospel conversations since in the past five years.

·       A new partnership mission trip to Vancouver is beginning to bear fruit.

Praise God that CABA pastors are running for daylight to the glory of God!
